CATE LE BON

Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies have made a debut album, "Through Low Light And Trees", which is an exquisitely shivery blend of alternative folk-rock and a bluesy brand of Americana, a sound both eerily ancient and thrillingly modern, with beautifully interlocking harmonies and guitar parts behind the spectral melodies.

SCOTT MATTHEWS

Scott Matthews released his debut album Passing Stranger, on the San Remo label, through Island Records to widespread acclaim in 2006. In 2007, Scott won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, with his debut single 'Elusive' and in 2008, he supported Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, on their 'Raising Sand' European tour. His second album, entitled 'Elsewhere', was released on May 25th 2009. Scott is currently recording his third album.

RUARRI JOSEPH

2010 sees the return of talented troubadour Ruarri Joseph. The indie-folk sensation, often likened to Tom Waits, Cat Stevens and even Dylan, will be releasing his much anticipated fourth record, Shoulder to the Wheel, later this year.

Head Of Programmes is the alias of Devon-based singer-songwriter James MacGregor. Also blessed with a voice reminiscent of the young Jeff Buckley, Texan Rodney Branigan displays jaw-dropping acoustic guitar skills, including a show-stopping simultaneous two guitar playing section.

LAURA DUGMORE

South West based artist, Laura Dugmore exudes charisma as she plays her endearing folk influenced songs with a wistful and nostalgic charm. Her sensitively crafted songs cover a broad spectrum of topics including a travelling eccentric frenchman, conversations with blackbirds, dancing cowboys and seaside lullabies. The release of her debut EP "J'aime La Vie" showcases Laura's versatility playing with her talented band against quirky, nu-folk, popsicle beats. Expect her distinctive voice and lyrics to whisk you away, as she sings sweetly yet frankly from experience.

ALASDAIR ROBERTS

Scots singer Alasdair Roberts is a cult hero thanks to his highly individual, bleak or quirky songs and his equally original treatment of traditional songs. His latest release, 'Too Long In This Condition', released in August, is a typically surprising album of folk songs, is his most accessible yet and has received rapturous reviews. He started out in 1994 when he adopted the name 'Appendix Out' and started playing small venues. This is where he was discovered by Will Oldham and a contract with US label Drag City was soon to follow. More recently he's released music under his own name and here will be accompanied by fiddler Elle Osborne.

THE MISERABLE RICH

The band's music has been described as 'pop music that could soundtrack a nursery rhyme created by Tim Burton'. With their layers of delicate, elegant strings and rich vocals the band lead by violin and cello, with acoustic guitar and double-bass holding down the rhythm. These members of Brighton-based Willkommen Collective display classical, jazz and psychedelic influences within their lush chamber folk. myspace.com/themiserablerich

MOZURA

Mozura are Rich Austin (double bass, guitar and vocals), Mo Oram (guitar and vocals), Laura Turley (guitar and vocals) and Matt Calder (percussion), four musicians from South Devon who have joined forces for a new alt-folk/blues sound that combines traditional acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies with infectious, offbeat bass lines. myspace.com/mozuramusic

POLLY AND THE BILLETS DOUX

Polly and her three piece band are out and about promoting their critically acclaimed debut album; 'Fiction, Half-Truths & Downright Lies.' on Bleak Mouse Records. Their first release was the 'Head of Steam' EP, which charted at 17 on the Radio 1 Indie Chart.
